After searching court records I have found the the attorney who is threatenting a lawsuit only practices in Civil Court. Looks like California will only allow small claims if the amount is 2500 or below. So I assume he only takes cases worth over 2500.

They claim mine is worth 2200 so I guess with interest and attorney and filing fees they can justify over 2500 if needed. What a joke.

Small claims back as far as 1995 has no suits filed by him. In 2003-04 there are 175 collection accounts file by this attorney. Most with Ford and car financing companies. One for the CA that has my alleged debt. But very recent. Obviously the haven't worked together much. Maybe he just took on this client. A couple with Midland. Lots with Monogram bank. Some for Montgemery Wards. His biggest client seems to be Ford MOtor and car related OC.

Does anyone know why Civil court? And are the rules/dammages ect different in that court?

And GUESS WHAT they do file in bunches. If you check the dates he will file for all one company and file numerous suits. Than the next time he is in court is all for the next company and lot of them. Further proof that default judgement are expected.
