a judgement is a court document saying you owe this. to enforce it takes more money and court time. look at OJ. they will watch and see if you get something attachable..the court can not make you pay it..only awards it. its up to whoever owns it to enforce..or sell it to someone else. if you have nothing..they will sit on it. sometimes people get things in 10 years..and if their watching..they will come after it. then some people smart enuff simply sit under the radar and let them sit. every state has exemptions to attachable assets...make sure you know what yours are. some places will make you pay a judgement if you buy a house..for example. some dont. its a numbers game..enuff judgements won..a percentage of those will acquire something to take. a lot buy judgements..or enforce them as a way of making their living.
