Even if not SOL, answering the suit, claiming 'Lack Knowledge' to all alleged counts, reduces the probability of a judgement, and absolutely eliminates all possibility of them obtaining a Default Judgement.

It is by no means an uncommon experience for a within-SOL suit to be dismissed, merely by the consumer answering. Plaintiff manytimes loses interest, wants to avoid money and time costs of prosecution, moves on to softer targets.

Good idea to have a lawyer, keeps the rest of the courtroom critters honest.
