Rental/credit question

I have a 9 year eviction on my credit report that only shows up on rental reports. As of Feb 2002 it will make 10 years for this to come off my credit. How can I find out if this has happened? Also I have a old telephone bill that has been already paid and pacific bell claims that since the collection agency's phone number was busy they gave me the number and said to call and have the bill showing paid or removed. I guess my question is for all of these paid in full bills and so forth who do I need to get in contact with to get them removed off my credit. For the Eviction who do I contact for that.
