Problems with Gulf State Credit

I recently paid an account in full to Gulf State Credit. The lady who took my payment over the phone said she would fax me a copy of the payment letter as soon as the payment posted. I needed it for my mortgage company so I could close on my house. I never recieved the fax.
I called back several times to ask someone to fax me a copy of the payment letter. Everyone I called to refused to do so and said they only mail the letter. They told me that I would recieve the letter by 6/11/01. Today is now 7/24/01 and I still haven't recieved the letter. I called back today and was disconneted, so I tried back. I was transfered to 5 different people before the last one disconnected me. Can anyone give me advice on how to get this letter? The mortgage company let me go ahead and close, but thet still want a copy of the letter. Is there any legal action I can take against them? Are they breaking any laws? HELP IF YOU CAN!
