As a follow up. Our daughter made a offer of half. He refused but said he would take the money and she could make payments with zero interest on the balance which was $3000 more than before.
By the time he finished talking to us and our daughter over the phone he had her in tears and beaten her down so she would agree to anything and insulted and intiminated my husband to the point it made him sick. He also had called her work and made every one there aware of her problems including her boss. He demanded a check over the phone for the half. We refused since we did not want our name involved. He finally took a check from our daughter and we transfered the money to her account. This leaves us feeling very uneasy since she has nothing signed to show he agreed to anything.
I guess the moral to this is never default on a loan. These guys are wicked.
