Listen, for future reference, what these guys did is illegal. It is best not to talk to them on the phone. It is perfectly ok to hang up on them. You daughter should send them a letter telling them they can only contact her in writing. The must do it!! These laws were passed to protect comsumers from this kind of abuse.

Since you were on the phone and heard it all, you should file a complaint with the FTC. the BBB, and your state's consumer protection agency, whatever they call it where you live. It is also illegal for them to tell anyone at a person's workplace why they are calling.

Another thing you/your daughter can do - if they call and harrass her again, is to tape the conversation. If she doesn't have an ansering machine that tapes, you can buy a little stick-on thing that has a suction cup that goes on the phone receiver, and it plugs into the microphone jack of a tape recorder. All she has to do is turn it on and tell them she is recording the call, and she intends to record every call if they are going to talk to her like that.
