Honestly, with the first three, I just didn't know until it
was too late. I didn't even know what a charge off was.
Now I do. I am learning a lot. By the time I talked to
them (who I think now was actually the collections and
not the internal department) they worked out a deal with
me. They said if I made an agreement, I put a large
downpayment, and made agreements for montly
payments and I thought I was/am working with the
creditors. With AmEx I am just scared I guess. I don't
know if it has been charged off. It's been 6 months. Is it
too late to call the internal office and talk to them? I
guess it can't hurt. The collections office that is talking
ot me is GC services. Is that internal or external. I
haven't talked to them in the last two days, I've avoided
their calls or missed their calls. I am so lost. I am only
26 and this is crazy I did this to myself. I had no idea
what would happen with the settlement company.
Tough lesson and credit killed and $1000 lost. Most
frustrating and expensive lesson I have learned.
