Hey guys.
I have several medical bill accounts with CA. Mainly because the hospital wanted one amount which was pretty high and the collection agency will pretty much except what they can get. I send them money, if they return it in most states its considered paid off. Check with your laws first. If they return it to you, and dont credit it to the account. When I do send them a payment they do not like, they call and call. I just dont awnser the phone. And then I send them another payment here in New Mexico there isnt much they can do if you are not at least 30 days late from the last date they recieved a
payment. They know not to contact my husband at work, since once again in allot of states its against the law to contact your work and harrass you. You can file harrassment charges against them in court. Or I tell them. NO JOB, NO PAYMENT. NO JOB , NO PAYMENT. I have told allot of people this and they just shut up on the other side of the phone like as if I have the nerve to speak to them in such a manner.Anyway, Ignoring them wont make them go away, but send them what you can afford, as long as you are making a effort in most cases they will leave you alone. And making them on time and each and every month . This is how I deal with them. Its been 3 years paying these people. Besides the phone calls they are pretty much quite.
