Early in August, the 8th, I was served (actually my wife was served even though I am only the one named on papers) by our local sheriff "let's not catch criminals" department. Giving me 30 days to reply to a claim, that has past SOL by more than two years - debt from 1999. Still with plenty of time to reply, I received in the mail today (regular mail - not even certified), by an attorney representing Sherman, setting a court date, for September 8th, 31 days after receipt of service and the day after my reply is due, requesting summary judgement. Whats up with this - are they just trying to pull a lawyer scam knowing they cant win if they follow the laws with respect to collection procedures? SO darn Frustrating!!
