We have been having a run of CAs posting. Pay them no mind.

Of course I don't know about the attorney that sent you the letter, but some collection attorneys work on a contingency. If they collect, they get a percentage. If they don't collect, they don't get paid. It does cost money to file a law suit, and they aren't looking to waste money filing, and then not being able to collect anyway. Sounds like you are judgment proof. There is a lot of psychology in debt collection, CA attorneys bank on scaring the consumer into believing that they are going to be sued. Maybe you will be, sometimes there is no rhime or reason to what goes on in debt collection. Keep checking with the courts to see if their is anything filed against you. If something is filed, then you must answer, otherwise they will get a default judgment. Even if they do file suit, and you defend, they will most likely not be able to validate. These debts are bought in bundles, without documentation. Your debt is old, so as long as you show up to court (if you are sued) and defend, you will prevail. Good Luck.
