I was told that if the account is past SOL and if a collection agency has put it on your credit report that they are required to talk it off after SOL is past and the debt cannot be collected anymore. Is this true? I hope so.

Also on credit report I notice the OC has DOLA and 30 days late ect. Well the CA accounts leave all of that blank. And than just put the day they opened the account (two years later) and it appears the that account is brand new. Is this legal. I had a loan officer tell me that I have a bunch of new collection accounts. I told him they were from 2001 and were related to a divorce. He said that is not what is reflected on my CRA. Is that legal. I know it considered poisioning, but is it legal or can I fight it. (after SOL is up in 2/05) It just irks me they can do this. And they always do it right after I apply for a loan or something.

I did opt out.

Do you have any answers.

Thank you so much for all the help you have given me.
