Thanks, Noslave! That was a help. It looks like there have only been a handful of suits filed on behalf of Portfolio in my county in the last few years. However, when I look at Miami where the lawyer who has been calling is located, there are pages of cases for Providian. So I don't know what to think of that. They can file in either county...is that right? Well, maybe they're just blowing hot air. It would be a pretty big waste of their time to sue me anyway considering I have no job or assets.
