Never bother to argue with a CRA over the phone. Send them proof of your identity and an explanation of WHY this cannot be your debt IN WRITING.

Make sure you send it CRRR. TU responds well only to written communication. Even their online dispute process is a total crock. If you dispute online and they fail to investigate properly, following up with a written dispute will almost invariably get their attention.

In this case, TU cannot plead ignorance if you send them proof that the account is legally uncollectible FROM YOU. They can't hide behind what the subscriber (the CA/OC) says when you've presented evidence that their information is incorrect. If your goal is to get this off your report as *quickly* as possible, then you need to get it across to the CRA that the information is inaccurate. The CA and OC have a vested interest in keeping it ON your report, so don't expect any favors from them.
