With apologies to Keyser Soze, who weaves a story like no other on the Board -- there's a scene in the movie To Kill A Mockingbird where Atticus Fitch (portrayed by Gregory Peck) is spit on because he was defending a black man. Fitch walked away. Nothing in my mind illustrates the sage advice "don't lower yourself to their level" quite like this scene. Nothing would have been gained by responding to the spitter. Fitch might have felt he was defending his honor by throwing a punch or arguing with the man. But the time and energy spent doing that, detracts from the time and energy needed to defend his client. Trolls will be trolls. They will only disrupt the Board if we let them. Those who just had the thought -- didn't Fitch lose his case, or I'm equating this forum with the much larger issue of race relations -- missed the whole point and should watch the movie again. I have found the advice offered by the regular posters to this Board to be non-judgmental and I hope meant to be supportive. Keep up the good work.
