File an answer and notice of appearance with the Court. You have a perfect defense, the account was paid before they filed. Request a dismisal with NO charges to you for any legal or Court fees. If they INSIST on your paying their fees, tell them you will appear in Court with proof of payment, proof of an ongoing payment record and will file counter charges against the collection agency for filng a lawsuit in bad faith.
