Do you ever check out and they ask for your zip code? I decline. Once I declined and the clerk said they did not know how to proceed and called for help! They even ask for your telephone number at Sears -- I asked why, they said as part of the warranty. If I did not give my phone they had no way to trace my warranty. I was so taken back I called her a liar and asked for a supervisor. They said I could go upstairs to the office, I said no -- this line is closed until I get a supervisor to come to me. When the supervisor came she said the clerk was wrong -- the clerk said to the supervisor's face SHE was wrong, that is the way they are trained. I gave them my telephone number and asked what does the computer show. IT DID NOT SHOW ME! It showed someone else, I guess the person who had the number before me. I told the supervisor this is how credit fraud happens. She didn't care -- I walked without the purchase and filed complaints with AG, FTC and BBB to get MY TELEPHONE number deleted from Sear's computers. I kept going back to check -- took 3 months.
