no, why do that? waste of money..wont keep them from suin you at all....they can still sue any time they want and prolly will since it looks like you have money. no,,thats a terrible idea. it will ruin your credit even more. and btw..no one here advocates any way to not pay bills. we cant pay and only show others their rights under the law, esp when collectors are trying to collect on time-barred debts or use illegal tactics. we do not advocate any way to get around the law or defraud anyone. paying a CA something, will cause a lawsuit quicker than anything. and paying if you can, wont stop any lawsuits at all. all you did was verify its your debt and you care about it and have money. most of us here have NO money anyways.
