sorry, if im a bit gun shy. quit tellin the CAs anything..check whychats site..(link is below in his post) for what they can do to you in a suit or your SOL for your state. lay low..dont believe a word a CA says..opt out (also explained in whychats link) and continue to ask anything you want. goood luck!!! court may not be inevitable..many sue in batches..as it cost them money. just hang in! our experience is this..the interest alone will eat up most of the payments..it is to delay until you can pay it off and not meant to be a long term solution. it shows them you have money and care and admit its not only your debt but you agree to the amount also. something that if it goes to court will work against you. they will take payments for a short time and then begin to up the amount they want and bug you worse..it just usually doesnt work. most debt buyers cant prove a debt in court and dont expect you to show up anyways. they bank on default judgements. we agree with your sentiments..but thats not how it works..unfortunately. hugs***
