does anyone know what it takes to be forced by law into bankruptcy or if that is even possible? Also, if a creditor is going to put a judgement against you or garnish your wages, how do they have to let you know they are doing so? Do they have to notify you by certified mail or is "sending something in the mail" good enough. I am a college student and live with three other people. A lot of mail gets lost, thrown away, etc. I have been told by people before they have sent me something and I have never received it. I have told my roommates about my concern, but I am worried I will miss something important in the mail. I am dealing with one creditor in particular and half the things they claim to sent me I never get.
