First, the SOL has already run out - it expired last fall. Second, I applied for the credit card about three weeks ago; the rejection notice came last week - the reasons given included "Collection action" but made no mention of any judgment (wouldn't they have mentioned a judgment had there been one?) And third, the hospital to which the debt is owed is a non-profit (I just found this out by visiting their web site). Does that make any difference? Finally, the credit bureau sent me a form requesting "Proof of Address" before they will send me the credit report. I have not responded yet.
