credit card denied because of permanent address

Hi!!
Well..I applied for credit cards, and all the credit cards denied a credit card telling me that my permanent address indicatest that I am not a resident of US. I am student here, and have been here for a year now on a F1 visa. Can somebody tell me where do I need to change the address, or whom do I need to contact??
