The letterhead says Attorney at law. About two weeks ago I received a voice mail stating that if I did not return their call, it would be the last one made. Can they simply leave the serving papers on my door or in my mail box for anyone to find? What is the defense and how do you prove you never knew about the lawsuit? How can you also verfiy when the last payment was made on this debt to the original creditor? It also appears that another collection agency is trying to collect on the same debt...I just got a letter the other day from someone else about the same account. Will or can this debt be on my report from the original creditor and the collection company? Isn't this like double reporting?
your advise has been of much help and I appreciate emensely

thank you
