Sears vs Sears Collection Agency

I had a Sears credit account which was sold to a Collection Agency in 1999. The debt has since been paid in full via the CA. The problem is that the CA is not reporting the debt at all (paid or otherwise)on my credit report and Sears is showing the account as a "collection account as of 4/1999". Should I contact the CA and have them report the item as paid in full or should I just leave well enough alone? The Sears entry does say balance=0 but that's only because they sold it off, right?
