Need help for credit cards debt

I owe totally $50,000 dollars on my credit cards. I really can't catch up the payment anymore. All payments are four monthes late.
I don't want to file bankruptcy. I found a company through internet. They told me that they can reduce my debts by 50%. Can I trust them? How can they reduce my debts by 50%?
If I am not go with them, there is any other way I can handle this?
