The only way to reset the SOL is if you sign a new agreement with the collection agency. Or if you promise to make of form of payment to them. If you do either of the two, then your answer is yes. You have now just re-established a "new" account. If you have done neither of the two, then the collection agency DOES NOT even have authority to collect on your debt. They can only TRY to get you to pay. They can not make you pay.
