Glad to help. Medical billing is rampant with problems. I think I already told about my Mom and her medicare story - the hospital put the wrong diagnostic code on the medicare claim form - then when medicare denied the claim, they tried to bill her for it (over $6,000). I got on the phone with them and politely went through everything to show them it was their billing error, finally got a gal who said she'd take care of it. Next thing I know the collection arm of the local Equifax affiliate calls threatening to take her to court and ding her credit report. I blasted them to kingdom come. That hospital didn't give a $*&^.

Then last month she gets another medical billing error - from a local emergency center (she fell) - saying they had filed all the insurance and she owed $xx. They had filed medicare - medicare forwards the claim automatically to the supplemental insurer. They were trying to collect on it twice. They picked the wrong old lady, LOL.

Stand your ground. If all else fails and you have kept all your correspondence, and documented everything, you can pay it to keep it off your credit report, and then sue them in small claims court.

Linda
