Last week I called the court clerk's office in the county involved, and they seemed pretty certain that their on-line records were fully updated for the time period when the judgment (if there was one) would have been filed; they said I could send them $5.00 and they would do a thorough name search. I'm reluctant to do this, because if it turned out there was a judgment, wouldn't this lead the creditor straight to me?
