Yes, dispute them individually. Send letters to the Credit Bureau's challenging the validity of the debt. The burden of proof is on the original creditor, or the creditor that has purchased your original debt.

There is no need to contact the creditor unless you really need to. Let the people at Experian, Trans Union and Equifax do all the dirty work for you.
