I would keep my head down and not file bk. Your bk is liable to start showing up on your wife's report, for one thing. It isn't legal, but they do it anyway, and then you have to deal with that.

Just stay low, and you always know you have bk to fall back on if they come after you before the SOL is up. Once the SOL is up, you can deal with the collectors. Lord know, they are coming after people who don't even owe any money to anyone - are you reading that Gulf States thread? It's just part of life in this "information" age. Hopefully some more privacy laws will take place to stop this selling and re-selling of debt before you have to deal with it.
