We are in a rather frustrating situation of being garnished about a hundred and seventy five dollars a week of my husband's check for medical bills. Which I could PAY ON, and eventually pay off, if we weren't being garnished and having to play utility roulette to manage to keep everything on. In about two more weeks, the one comes off, and I am immediately going to send everyone about twenty bucks with a note to say, "Don't send this to be garnished and I will be able to pay you off slowly but surely. If any one of you garnishes the paycheck, I will no longer be able to pay any of you anything." As it is, I'm waiting a few years for my next foot surgery not only due to the life disruption it will cause (foot in a cast and a two year old...I don't THINK so!) but because I'd like to at least make a sizeable dent in the bills before I put any more on the list. Why so many bills? I've been married for seven years as of this last September. I have either had a baby or had major surgery every year of the marriage. Feh. The lawyers I have that I don't have to pay are family law and litigation, nothing like this. And considering the finances we sure the hell can't pay one.
