I am sorry if this posts twice, but I reloaded and it wasn't listed in the postings. Anyway, I have a charge off from Discover dated 11/96-9/98 then i states tat it has been purchased by another lender. The other lender has the debt listed also but states on my credit report that they are unable to locate me. (I have moved but have the same ph#, of course, now that I have updated my info, they will have my new address) My report does show that as recently as 3 days ago they pulled a credit report on me, so the are still looking for me. If they contat me regarding this almost $3000.00 debt, am I releived under my states SOL? (I live in GA) This site lists credit cards as "open accounts" so it would be 4 yrs..right? For some reason I thought it was seven?! And how can I have charge off listed as 11/96-9/98? Does that mean the clock started on 11/96 or 9/98? Has it restarted with this new company taking over the debt? What should I do if they contact me? Sorry so long. Thanks in advance.
