I think your problem is that you are dealing with original creditors. They will almost never delete in exchange for payment. They will be breaking their agreement with the credit reporting agencies, and they can't afford to do that.

If you have been paying them all along, you best bet is to go on and pay them off. Many credit card companies will "forgive" you and even give you a new starter account to help you rebuild when you have paid them. The good ones value integrity and good faith, and that is what you have been showing them.

Once you have paid, most likely they will be good to you.

Let me qualify that - there are some banks and card companies that are not nice to people in trouble, but since they have been accepting your payments and have not written the debt off and sold it to collection agencies, it sounds like you are dealing with the decent ones.

In the end, you would have paid accounts, zero balance, and the dergatory part would be that you paid late xxx number of times. Time will fix that part, it you have new good accounts that are paid on time. And some of them may end up removing the derogs for you after a while if they are feeling generous.

From what you've told me, I would lend you money if I were a bank. :) Nobody's immune to trouble, but those who come out of it and still honor their obligations are worth keeping.

Linda
