BK7/Charge off reporting on credit report???

Could somebody explain this to me. I have yet to get a good answer. I filed a BK7 in 10/97 and discharged in 2/98. Now my question is. My accounts that i put into bankruptcy were not charged off when i filed and some were not even late but yet the CRA report that these accounts show included in bankruptcy/charged off..
Ive disputed these and they come back verified.. Is the way they show this right Included in bk/charged off even tho these accounts were never charged off prior to my filing.... also do these effect my ce scores being shown this way??
