The collection agency is doing what ca's do best- LIE.
Send them a cease and desist/dispute/validation rrr
If it is still on your credit reports,send a verification dispute to the CRA's with a copy of the letter you sent to the ca, & a copy of the green card.request deletion for "over-age" (wait 30 days after date green card signed) You will get rid of them. DO NOT send the ca ANY $$ all it will do is add 7 years bad credit to your credit reports.
