It is my undrstanding that international students who apply for credit in the U.S. are subject to international banking agreements that would allow their debts to be transferred to agencies in their own Country.Along with regular requirements on your application you probably gave thm information on your visa and passport numbers.I have heard of, but not verified, some grim stories of collection account practices in other countries with respect to such transferred debt.
