If you got decent terms on the refinance, and the mortgage is manageable, I would zap the card debt fast. Settling isn't going to get you anything but bad credit. They want the money - they think they can get it - you will spend a lot of time negotiating, probably not get anywhere, and meantime the debt (at the default rate, right?) is growing every day.
