CA shows as closed account but still owe?

Hello, I disputed an account with the credit bureau and it now shows on my report "closed by consumer" but it still shows a balance owed with a rating of "O5". Any ideas on what this means? Do I still owe anything? I've been told by a friend that this may simply mean that the CA did not have time to verify the debt but will change the notation once they find all their paper work.
