Both Va. & Fl. have a 5 year SOL on written contracts. It doesn't make any difference, if the derogatory info is on your credit report it will hurt your chances for a mortgage. Also, a judgment may have been filed against you in Va. already, have you checked?
As to which State you can be sued in-- it depends on what the loan was for.
