I just called first select to ask them a few ??s
The first one was
1. Does Weltman, Weinberg and Reis hold my account? They said no we still own (hold) it and they are just monitoring the lawsuit.
2.I need papers stating when discover was sold to first select(debt collector) She said I have to request in writing but it was in August 2000.
So to sum it up, first select owns the acct, but WWR filed the suit in the state of Michigan on behalf of First select who is in Kentucky.
WWR does not hold a collection license in Michigan but they have law offices in Kentucky.
So what now? Do I go and contest the lawsuit at the court house?
