It's all about money.

I agree that there should be a payment history for lenders to see, and there should be a risk "score" for them to go by when evaluating applications. But it is a mistake to assume that this is all being handled fairly under the current system.

If your score is lower, they can charge you more.

The system is designed to get as much money as possible out of individual consumers.
