duty to report judgement SATISFIED?

Is there any duty or responsiblity on the part of party who obtains a judgenment to report it SATISFIED after it is, uh, satisfied? The court clerk I contacted told me it must be initiated by the plaintiff. Their lawyer says he doesn't know what to do...
