I have reived a letter from a local Attorney, stating that my Discover Card Acct. has been referred to their office for handling. They state that Verification of the debt, a copy of judgement or the name and address of the original creditor, if different from the current creditor, will be provided if requested in Writing within (30) days. They have indicated that They will not discuss this debt over the phone. It also says that This communication is from a debt collector and is an attempt to collect a debt.

My quetion is, Should I send a Cease and Desist letter or a Validation letter? Should I just lay low or what. I have not paid on this account in over one year. I had not heard anything from Discover Card in a year then all of a sudden I received (12) statements of billing all in one day. Discover Card has refused to work with me and now they have referred this account to an Attorney!!!

HELP!!!!!!!
