Bk's are all about numbers. SOme numbers are just bigger than others. Why do you think Burt Reynolds and Bowie Kuhn established residency in Fl. prior to filing bk? See a lawyer. Not only is there homestead exemptions in each state but, you also may exempt personal property. Some states are also pretty liberal with IRA plans and the cash value of insurance policies. Depending on the laws specific to your state, you could well pay nothing, keep your home and, a bunch of "stuff" and , discharge all unsecured debt.
