In California our lawyer told us that are able to keep $18,000 dollars worth of stuff as an exemption. Unless your cars are expensive, it shouldn't be a problem. The trustee understands that you need to be able to drive. www.kbb.com can give you an idea how much your cars are worth. As a worst case scenario, you would have to drive a cheaper car.
