I received a call from a credit card company saying
that I was the guarantor on the business card account.
I haven't consulted with this company for 2 years and
they had a card in the owners name and one in my
name. I have never seen nor used these cards. The
debt is about $9,000. The company used them as company
cards. The company is now broke and can't pay this debt. I asked the collections
person if they had something that I signed and he
said that what they have is a record of my incomming
call and that the sales person discloses your
libility when you sign up. Am I liable? Is this
going to show up on my credit? Is this person
trying to intimidate me to get to the owner?
How can I get this to stop. Thank you for any help.
