Divorced/Bankrupcy

My Mother was recently divorced and her ex wants her to have the house in the property settlement. He claims that he is going to file bankrupcy in a few months and was told by an attorney that a bankrupcy judge may consider the property settlement to be unfair, and subsequently force my mom to sell the house to give him his half of it. My mother lives in a community property state. Is this a possibility?
