Been thinking of every way possible to keep out of bk and keep from being sued. I have one pressing card issue right now, one potentially coming up. I've decided to negotiate the settlements. One settlement was for $4000.00 and I will go on and do a settlement on the other card for hopefully no more that $3000.00. My husband has excellent credit as all these debts are my own..he isn't even an authorized user on it. We are in a better and much improving situation. Got rid of a truck that was costing $317.00 a month which also lowered the insurance cost on the one vehicle we're keeping. So I'm going to get him to apply for a card and do the settlement transfers to the new card (which ever it may be). Estimated the costs per month to be about $240.00 on both...better if I can find a good card. And will pay a bit more than the premium. Would someone tell me if they think this is a good or bad idea. It would keep me out of court. If I file bk he'll still suffer for the cards that he never used. And we are able to make those payments. I would of course love to be out from under the bill, but if I can repay it and stay out of court..then I like that idea as well. Plus I've had so many things going on that I don't think I could stand the pressures of court.
