I do not doubt the stress you are under, however, the WORST thing you can do at this point is to send ANY letter to ANYONE other than a simple cease and desist. The reason is simple, you are upset, you do not know your options, you have not investigated to see the status of your accounts. There may be ALL sorts of options open to you that you are destroying by sending a settlement letter of ny kind at this point.You need to remove the pressure, send a cease and desist to the CA, check them out, see if they have purchased the account or have it assigned, find out if your original cc agreement is even valid for collection under the Tn. Consumer Protection Act.Find out if the cc company did anything to void their ability to legally collect.Their have been several Tn. cases in the courts where the cc companies were find and had to efund all $$ they illegally collected.
