Interesting.. that's more or less what I thought, I just don't know all the legal terminology and procedures :)

Thanks for clarifying that. Since CAMCO isn't afer ME (but there are others who are), I'm not personally worried about dealing with them for myself. However, since they ARE after my fiance for 2 accounts I'm trying to learn as much as I can. Since he DID live in IL until Jan 2000, I wouldn't put it past the dirtbags at CAMCO to try to sue him in IL, or even NY. However, we have evidence in the form of several letters and recorded messages, that they KNOW he's in TN. It may not happen that way, but if it does, I want to know what can be done.

I don't know what we can do about the first account they've been after him for. Even though I'm pretty certain the SOL has expired, he DID send them a 1 - a letter proposing a payment amount, 2 - ONE payment, and 3 - a settlement letter, which CAMCO signed and accepted (but he never paid it). I don't know if all that has screwed him out of the SOL defense or not. The 2nd account, also beyond SOL, he hasn't done anything with, so there's a chance we can beat them on that one.

Thanks for all the info ! :)
